ISHAKA — Kampala International University Teaching Hospital has set up a full-time information desk working 24/7, to provide the general public with factual information concerning COVID-19.

Executive Director of the hospital, Prof. Robinson Ssebuufu, said the desk was set up to ease access to factual information by the public.

“We have created an information desk so that patients can call in and there will be people at hand to handle their queries,” Prof Ssebuufu said.

Sr. Elizabeth Kamahoro, the Principal Nursing Officer (PNO) of the hospital said it was also meant to streamline information flow and to make sure people received service in the shortest time possible.

“We have particular numbers we have set up so that people can call in and get answers to their questions. We will also have a particular full-time phone line where people can call in at any time to get answers,” Sr Kamahoro said.

She added that the line was meant to handle calls from anywhere so that the people calling in can have their questions answered, and in the event that the information required is not readily available, they can refer them to the district for further assistance.

In addition to information about COVID-19, the full-time line will also handle general inquiries.
