COVID-19 CRISIS: Busoga Kingdom donates UGX85M towards COVID-19 fight

KAMPALA – Busoga Kingdom through the prime minister Owek. Muvawala Joseph has donated Shs85 million to the national taskforce on Covid-19.

“We are partnering with the Ministry of Health and other private sector players to support Government efforts to curb the spread and risk of the COVID-19 with a contribution of Shs85M,” Busoga Premier said.

The Kingdom’s donation was received by Hon Mary Karooro Okurut who happens to be the national taskforce on Covid-19 chairperson at parliament on Wednesday, April 15.

Also in attendance was the Speaker of parliament Hon Kadaga Rebecca.

On behalf of government the minister thanked the kingdom for the generosity.

The speaker has requested government to extend to extend relief food to other regions.

The prime minister has also appointed Owek. Osman to spear head mobilization of relief items for Busoga.
