KAMPALA — The Workers Member of Parliament Margaret Rwabushaija condemned a  house maid who allegedly murdered a six month old baby in Masaka last week.

“Being a mother, I feel the pain that comes with losing a child. It is indeed very sad and a very unfortunate incident, “said Rwabushaija.

She urged parents to be careful of the people they live home with their children.

She also called on mothers to research in-depth about maid’s background some information about them.

“I learnt that the mother didn’t know where the girl was coming from because she got her through a friend in church. Parents need to be careful with the maids they hirey because some of them come from families with issues or are evil possessed,” she added.

She called for calm until police completes its investigation in the matter saying that now is not time for blame game because like other mothers, she might have wanted to keep her for a short while as she looks for another replacement.

The legislator revealed that in the past, there were companies which used to train housemaids and there were few cases of death.

On Thursday, media reports indicated that Police in Masaka District were holding a maid accused of killing a six-month-old baby under her care in Masaka District.

Incidents of maids torturing toddlers/ children have been on the rise in the recent past
