WBS TV advertises 130 staff positions as it eyes a return to the waves

KAMPALA – Wava Broadcasting Services (WBS TV) has contracted a recruitment agency to recruit staff as the station eyes a return to the waves.

Internship Agency Uganda Limited, which is located on Plot 52 Bombo Road-Esami Centre, Opp YMCA. In Kampala has issued an advert seeking to fill 130 positions in the new-look TV station.

The advertised positions include Technical Directors (02), Master control room operators (03), Audio Operators (03), Camera Studio Operators (09), Floor Managers (03), Storage Manager, Producers (11) and Assistant Producers (12). Others are Script Writers (11), TV journalists (10), Editors and Assistant Editors (31), Makeup artists and Hairstylists (02). The advert also includes Clothes Stylists (02), Eng. Operators (12), Graphic Designer, Video Editors (14), IT Manager, Hosts (12) and Live Video/Graphic Operator (03).

“All applicants must specify the vacancy being applied for. Each applicant must only apply for one post. Each applicant must submit, an application, CV with academic documents as one file in pdf format Detailed job details can be obtained via www.internshipagencyug.com,” the advert reads in part.

Sources have revealed that the TV proprietor, Prof Gordon Wavamunno, has put earmarked Shs1billion to set up the new television station.

WBS TV in on December 14, 2016, ceased to operate as a public broadcaster after it was put under receivership over Shs7.2b tax arrears by URA.

It was later sold off to Kwese Sports, a continental sports TV.
