MBARARA – Mbarara central police is stuck with an unidentified dead body of a male adult aged between 30-40 years.

Samson Kasasira, the Rwizi regional police spokesperson, says that body was discovered on Saturday, January 15, 2020, at around 07:30 am along the Mbarara northern bypass.

“The body we are stuck with we suspect was dumped on the road along the Mbarara northern bypass opposite Hotel Triangle by unknown assailants and left him with no form of identification”. he said.

He added that the body dressed in a dark blue T-shirt and a brown jacket with grey trousers was found lying along the road with external vivid marks of a rope tied across the mouth, neck, both legs and arms.

Kasasira urges anyone that has a missing person in the areas of Greater Masaka, Rwizi region, and areas of Greater Bushenyi contact the Central Police Station Mbarara or visit the Mortuary to identify the body.

He said since then police have been investigating the circumstances under which the person was killed but now they have hit a dead end with investigations since no one has come out to claim or report a missing person.

The body discovered one week ago now is lying in Mbarara regional referral hospital mortuary.

Kasasira, without specifying when, said that if the body is unclaimed police will bury it in the government cemetery.
