KAMPALA – High Court judge Moses Kazibwe has found Brian Bagyenda, son to ISO Director Col Kaka Bagyenda guilty of the murder of his girlfriend Enid Twijukye.

Bagyenda was convicted of murder together with his two employers including Innocent Bainomugisha and Vincent Rwahirwe who he instructed to tie Twijukye on a bed before suffocating her with a pillow, for wanting to leave him.

Bagyenda has been sentenced to 32 years in jail for girlfriend’s murder

“Life is sacred to be taken in non-legal circumstances. The deceased was a young person responsible for assisting her family and had a future ahead. All these were cut short by the inconsiderate and criminal behaviours of the convicts”-Justice Moses Kazibwe

The court relied on 16 prosecution witnesses who told the court that a 22year old Twijukye was suffocated to death with pillows.

Kazibwe strongly dismissed his insanity defense saying it’s an afterthought to escape justice.

Bagyenda had last month asked Justice Kazibwe, to acquit him and instead commit him to safe custody as a criminal lunatic to await a ministerial directive because at the time he is alleged to have committed this offense, he was not mentally upright.

The offense was committed on January 4th, 2017, along Njobe road in Luzira, the home of Brian Bagyenda before dumping the deceased’ body in the Namanve forest along Jinja road.
