KAMPALA – The Ministry of Health has been awarded the CoST Uganda 2019 Infrastructure Transparency Award for exceptional commitment in adoption & promotion of CoST approach of; Disclosure, Assurance, Multi-Stakeholder Working, and social accountability. The award was received by SPRO, Ainebyoona Emmanuel

While giving the award, the Minister for Works and Transport, Gen. Katumba Wamala lauded the Ministry of Health on the infrastructural developments across the country.

“Congratulations MOH on a well done Kayunga Hospital project”

The health ministry was further appreciated by CoST Uganda for following PPDA procedures during the bidding process and promoting local content.

Timely delivery of projects within scope and quality was also highlighted as a key area of success – as witnessed in Kayunga Hospital’s works.

CoST Uganda is a multi-stakeholder initiative with participating countries spanning four continents. CoST promotes transparency by disclosing data from public infrastructure investment, helping to inform and empower citizens, enabling them to hold decision-makers to account.

CoST Uganda is hosted by the Africa Freedom of Information Centre (AFIC), the largest civil society network promotion citizen’s right of access to information, open contracting and open government in Africa.
