KAMPALA — Kyadondo East Member of Parliament Robert Kyagulanyi will on Monday January 6 launch his national wide consultative meetings.

He has selected his area constituency, the Kyadondo East to host his first meeting which will be at Our Lady of Good Counsel, Gayaza Parish in Wakiso District

He will then proceed to six other districts in Northern Uganda.

The six districts include Adjuman, Gulu, Lira, Yumbe, Arua and Zombo.

“We begin consultations from home in Kyadondo East on Monday, and then go to six districts in Northern Uganda,” he wrote saying his group has complied with all legal requirements.

“Our hope is that security agencies will not interrupt our activities,” he added.

This came hours after a hotel in Kitgum Municipality in northern Uganda cancelled a reservation booking by the People Power movement to hold their consultation meeting there next week.

People Power team in Kitgum Municipality where Bobi Wine is slated to hold his presidential consultative meeting next week has confirmed to Uganda Radio Network.

The chairman of the Electoral commission Justice Simon Byabakama Mugenyi last month confirmed the clearance of three Presidential aspirants including Bobi Wine to start countrywide consultations.

However, the EC warned the aspirants to desist from turning the consultations into campaigns.

The consulting parties are also required to furnish the police with EC clearance and notification for security purposes.

William Komakech, the Kitgum resident district commissioner said the planned meeting is unlawful saying People Power only approached the hotel and failed to notify the security teams in the district as one of the prerequisites enshrined in the Public Order Management Act (POMA).

He, however, denied ordering management of the hotel not to host the meeting.

Bobi Wine has since delated Kitgum on his schedule.
