UCF donates law enforcement equipment to UWA

KAMPALA – Uganda Conservation Foundation (UCF) handed over surveillance equipment to Uganda Wildlife Authority specifically for Murchison Falls National Park to assist the law enforcement department in its monitoring activities.

The items donated included GPS car antennas, boot mount antennas, duplexer cables, radio chargers, procom duplexer, handheld radios, microphone, battery and accessories.

Upon receiving the items, Mr. Edision Nuwamanya, the Chief Warden of Murchison Falls Conservation Area appreciated Uganda Conservation Foundation and all the partners who continually support UWA in its mandate to protect and conserve wildlife for generations.

He alluded them for their continuously efforts to ensure wildlife I protected through provision of equipment that enables UWA fulfill its mandate.

On behalf of Uganda Conservation Foundation Mr. Martin Ssesanga urged UWA to put the equipment to good use.

He revealed that that was at aimed building capacity of law enforcement tackle wildlife crime, as well as provides infrastructure and equipment to assist in park operations.

Other items procured under CITES MIKE program for Queen Elizabeth include procured 20 Combat rucksacks, 10 rucksack- big, 34 ponchos (small), 49 ponchos (big), 3 par corr, 2 bungee, 2 camouflage, 1 Metal detector, 30 mess tins, 2 binoculars, 50 water bottles, and 12 belts in order to expand the protection of wild animals through patrols in Queen Elizabeth National Park.
