SOROTI – The National Chief Mobiliser for the National Resistance Movement (NRM) for Teso region Ms Teddy Acham has claimed that her life is in danger after learning that the security people in Bukedea District want her dead.

Ms Acham, also a senior presidential advisor on Teso Affairs told PML Daily on Tuesday 22, October that for the last three weeks she has been receiving details on plans by security officers in Bukedea to gun her down.

She said since she disclosed all the ugly things that security people were doing in the Bukedea, her relationship with security personnel including those at the region deteriorated.

“When Lt. Col Edith Nakalema came to Teso region I told her all that was going on in Bukedea including the torture of innocent people and [she] was shocked to note that Police were not of any help during that incident,” she said.

“I’m not free because the security personnel are trailing me left and right but I don’t mind its better for me to die for the sake of speaking on behalf of the people of Teso and for the president,” she said.

Ms Acham said a clique of security people in Teso have been holding secret meetings discussing how to silence her forever.

She claimed that the current criminal activities taking place in Bukedea, torture and illegal eviction of families is an act by some security officials with an intention to spoil the image of President Museveni so that he can lose votes in Teso region.

Mr. Michael Odongo the East Kyoga Police spokesperson, however, said he was not aware of Ms Acham receiving death threats and advised her to register a case with police for investigations to start.
