Greater Masaka police arrest suspected armed robbers

BUKOMANSIBI – Assistant Superintendent of Police, (ASP) Paul Kangave, the greater Masaka Police spokesperson says the force has arrested two armed robbery suspects in Buyoga Village Kibinge sub county Bukomansimbi district.

According to ASP Kangave a gang of three robbers armed with a toy gun, attacked Mr. Joseph Kalanda , a Businessman in the region, at his home in Kibinge sub county , and robbed him UGX 4 and a mobile phone .

Kangave says the neighbors upon realizing what was taking place made an alarm, which attracted members of the public, who intercepted two of the three suspects.

Kangave told this website that the suspects have been identified Pius Juko who was transferred to police custody and Mugerwa Ronald who was badly beaten and pronounced dead on arrival at Masaka Regional Referral Hospital.

The police, he said is on the hunt for the third suspect, identified as Julius Musimuka who is on the run.

“We call upon anyone with information regarding his whereabouts to alert the nearest police,” he said commending the public in Kibinge Sub County for their level of vigilance.

He asked them and to continue working the police to fight crime.
