Fire guts NRM Treasurer Namayanja’s home in Kasangati

KASANGATI —There was a stampede at home of NRM’s National Treasurer, Rose Namayanja in Kasangati as her family members ran for their lives, following a double fire on Thursday evening and Friday morning.

Mr. Rogers Mulindwa, the
senior manager Communication, Information Public Relations, NRM said that Ms. Namayanja, her husband and all house occupants have escaped with no injuries.

He said the mysterious double fire breakout on Thursday evening and Friday morning, destroying several property on both incidents.

The first incident he said happened on Thursday August 30, evening when the annex housing the gym got burnt to ashes.

This building is located about 30 metres from the main house.

He said another fire started from the living room of the main house in the wee hours of Friday August 31, morning leaving several house property in the living room and main bedroom destroyed.

The actual cause of the fire is still unknown but a joint team of experts led by Uganda Police have already embarked on the investigations and the home remains a scene of crime for now.
