KAMPALA – The Minister of Defence, Hon. Adolf Mwesige has on Thursday, August 29, opened a one-day security review workshop at the Defence Ministry headquarters in Mbuya.
The workshop geared at reviewing the annual security performance for Financial Year 2018/19 as well as highlight the key priorities for the new fiscal year.
While officiating at the opening ceremony, Hon Adolf Mwesige, commended the Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Defence Mrs Rosette Byengoma for organizing this workshop geared at increasing effective service delivery and appreciated the presence of various participants from the office of the President, Office of the Prime Minister, National Planning Authority, ISO, ESO and MODVA for participating and reaffirming the purpose of the workshop.
The purpose of this workshop is to appraise the participants, draw up lessons learnt, identify the gaps and also look for solutions for better planning and management.
Several departments made presentations on their annual performance review Financial Year 2018/2019 including Internal Security Organization (ISO), External Security Organization (ESO) as well as MODVA.
The security review workshop was attended by the minister of State for Defence and Veteran Affairs – General Duties, Hon. Col (Rtd) Charles Okello Engola, State Minister of Defence in charge Veterans, Hon Dr Bright Rwamirama, the Permanent Secretary Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs, Mrs Rosette Byengoma, the Chief of Defence Forces, Gen David Muhoozi among others.
