At around 10:40 am, fire gutted a boys’ dormitory, destroying property worth millions of shillings.

Following the tragedy, Directors who were not available to comment by the time have now noted that they are in full control of the situation.

“Please be informed that ONLY part of the boys’ dormitory has been burnt. No life was lost and no injuries sustained. We thank the Almighty GOD” Said Directors in a post on the school’s official Facebook handle.

They added saying that “The Situation is by far under control”.

The affected dormitories include; S.2, S.3 dorm 9 only and S.5 Arts.

“We are currently identifying the property destroyed and we are doing everything possible to put the situation back to order”, continues the statement.

Meanwhile, the directors have also confirmed that the school will continue with its normal business and that there is no plan to have it closed.

“The school is not closing, we request our dear parents, Old Students and All stakeholders to bear with us in this trying moment and be calm” adds the statement.

It is alleged that the fire could have been started off by a Charcoal iron box used by a student this morning.
