TORORO – The Tororo district Kadhi Sheik Ibrahim Asante Ragang on Tuesday 4 called for unity and forgiveness among the Muslim communities to help them influence positive changes in their respective communities.

Speaking during Eid El-fitri prayers at the Tororo main mosque, the district Kadhi noted that the Muslim faith was rapidly growing in the district and if they remained united they would use their numbers to influence decision making.

Sheik Asante challenged the Muslim communities to join the government’s campaign to fight domestic violence that he said is on increase hence giving hostile room for peace to prevail in families.

‘’I wish to note with concern that my office is congested with cases of gender-based violence of main men failing to provide to their families and I want to take this advantage to appeal to the men to ensure that they go in to have manageable families ‘’ he appealed.

On the other hand, the district Kadhi discouraged communities from going into borrowing loans saying that loans are good but are also the root causes of poverty, gender-based violence.

He advised communities to make sure that they go in for manageable serviceable loans to avoid being confronted after failing to pay back.
