Kabale OC Station survives deadly accident

KABALE – Kabale OC Station George Muhindo is nursing severe wounds at Kabale regional referral hospital after escaping deadly road accident.

Mr. Muhindo and other two Lynette Gumoshabe 18 and Jadeda Ndikubwaye a Rwandan national got involved in an accident on Thursday 13 at around 10 am at Rushoroza Cathedral road junction in Mwanjari ward in the Southern division of Kabale, on the Kabale-Katuna road.

The officer who by Thursday night was in Intensive care Unit (ICU) was riding his motorcycle registration number UP 673, heading to town before losing conscious in an accident.

It is said that on his way to town, Mr. Muhindo knocked a one Gumoshabe who was crossing the road, when an oncoming Toyota Ipsum registration number UAM 927L, in efforts to dodge the two, knocked Ndikubwaye, a pedal cyclist.

Eyewitnesses attributed the accident to over speeding of the police officer.

Gumoshabe sustained a compound fracture and was in the surgical ward, while Ndikubwaye escaped with minor injuries and was quickly dismissed from hospital.

Elly Maate, the Kigezi Region Police Spokesperson blames on Gumashobe who he says tried to cross the road carelessly.
