Ragga Dee in talks with KCCA for emitting noise, court heard

KAMPALA – Kampala City Hall court has extended criminal summons against renowned local music artist Daniel Kazibwe alias Ragga Dee who is wanted in court for allegedly emitting noise beyond permissible levels in his Kololo based Big Mikes bar.

This was after his lawyer David Mushabe informed presiding grade, one magistrate, Patrick Talisuna that negotiations with KCCA Directors are underway to have the matter resolved out of court.

“Your worship there have been meetings held at the senior level involving us and directors of KCCA to have the matter resolved. In this instance we seek for the criminal summons to be extended,” Mushabe told the court.

Although Ragga Dee had appeared at the court premises on time ready with his sureties including Maj. Juma Seiko with whom he co-owns the Big Mikes bar, he did not enter inside the court when his case file was called.

Mr. Talisuna also extended the criminal summoned against the bar’s manager a one Ritah Nancy to April 1.

Prosecution states that Kazibwe and Nancy on February 28, 2019, at Kololo Central division in Kampala did play music equipment emitting noise above the National permissible levels under the National environment noise standards and level regulations 2003.

Kazibwe is also wanted to answer charges of failure to comply with an improvement noise and breaking Kampala Capital City Authority’s property.
