KAMPALA – Africa Strategic Leadership Centre (ASLC), the organizers of the much anticipated ‘Africa Now Summit’ has confirmed that all is set for the think tank conference to happen.
The two-day event that will happen at the Commonwealth Resort and Conference Centre in Munyonyo, Kampala on March 12 and 13, 2019 is themed “Towards a secure, integrated and growing Africa.
Mr. Awel Uwihanganye, the Associate Director of the summit, a Kampala-based Pan-African think tank said it will bring together leading minds from the continent to share insights on trends driving Africa’s progress.
The agenda of the Summit is to discuss and propose solutions to Africa’s development challenges.
Unveiling the dates for the much-anticipated summit at Kabira Country Club recently, Dr. Robert Mwesigwa the ASLC Chairman Board of Directors said Africa Now Conference will be a forum for policy dialogue, an extensive public-private partnership, and mobilization of resources required to advance Africa’s socio-economic and political prosperity.
He added that the outcome of these discussions is to influence policy reform which enhances public and private sector development in Africa.
The organizers claim the Summit will drive effective public engagement which reflects and inspires the dream of a better Africa, with a background to Nelson Mandela’s belief in the realization of the unity of Africa, where its leaders combine in their efforts to solve the problems of the continent.
President Yoweri Museveni, the co-chair of the conference will be joined by Somalia President Mohammed Abdulahi Farmajo, South Africa’s Cyril Ramaphosa, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi of Egypt, who is also African Union Chairman and Tanzania Deputy President Samia Suluhu.
Others include African top CEOs, professors, researchers, politicians, diplomats, journalists, activists, and key leaders to engage in an interactive debate and find solutions to the challenges affecting Africa’s political and economic relations.
