KAMPALA – Kampala International University (KIU) is making it easier for people to search through their library collections.
The University, will Friday, February 22 launch the KIU institutional repository, a digital library at its main campus in Kansanga, Kampala.
The IDD Basajjabalaba Memorial Library (IBML) will feature some of the special collections as well as photos, maps, and even yearbooks both print and digital formats.
According to official communication, the library will be available to everyone, not just students.
Unlike other sites, the resource will combine new open-access publications with digital versions of existing print titles that will now, for the first time, be freely available to, and reusable by, anyone.
In addition, the library will take a flexible approach to scholarly writing, publishing monographs and edited collections as well as innovative research in longer and shorter formats
The official communication adds that this tool is a great way to share research and archives at the university.
