NAKAWA– Detectives from Jinja Road Police Station are investigating on matters concerning a postgraduate student of the Management, Training and Advisory Centre (MTAC) in Nakawa, Kampala who was murdered and room set ablaze.

Immaculate Kebirungi was found dead and her rented room along Neptune Avenue plot 21 Mbuya set ablaze on Thursday.

Jinja police officers found Kebirungi’s body as they rushed to put out the fire after being informed.

Police said they found Kebirungi’s lifeless body lying on the bed with her hands and legs tied with ropes.

The Kampala Metropolitan Police Spokesperson, Luke Owoyesigyire, said they have since netted two suspects who are helping the Police to trace for the deceased’s boyfriend who is suspected to have had a hand in her death.

“Two people are in our custody to help trace her boyfriend who is on the run. We understand he is trying to flee the country. I cannot disclose their names because it would jeopardize our investigations,” he said.

Kebirungi’s body was taken to Mulago Hospital for post-mortem.
