KAMPALA – Former IGP Gen. Kale Kayihura – through his lawyers of city law firm Kampala Associated Advocates (KAA) alleged that the Internal Security Organization (ISO) is fabricating evidence against him.

Mr Jet Tumwebaze, a lawyer representing the incarcerated General, alleged that they are aware that ISO is conniving with witnesses to incriminate their client.

Speaking to this website in a telephone interview on Thursday evening, Tumwebaze revealed that ISO has on numerous occasions fabricated evidence against suspects pointing out to a one Christine Mbabazi who he says was being paid to say Gen Kayihura killed former AIGP Felix Kaweesi.

“You saw the other day people being paraded. There are two houses that ISO has hired where people are being paraded and coached on what to say against Gen Kale, and this is very disturbing,” he added.

Tumwebaze said that thev law firm and Human Right bodies including Uganda Law Society (ULS) condemn the action of illegal detentions of Ugandans.

“There is no reason you should hold a man for 35 days without a charge or making an ink of statement but continue to feed the media with lies. We have asked the Commander In Chief to double check all ‘evidence”, he said.

ISO Director General Col Bagyenda last week paraded some suspects who confessed to working with Dr. Kizza Besigye and Gen Kale Kayihura to cause unrest in the city.

Col. Bagyenda also said some opposition leaders were behind the creation of Kifeesi and Kijambiya (Machete) gangs that have been wreaking havoc and spreading ‘alarmism’ in different parts of the country.

The youths claimed they did this on behalf of the opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC), and were led by Ingrid Turinawe the party secretary for mobilization.
