WAKISO: The Uganda Revenue Authority, URA has warned on contraband goods on the market after confiscating and burning off fake products found in Nakasaja, Wakiso district.

Beauty creams like Carol Light, Mekako, Peau Claire, among others were some of the products URA warned about since young girls and women are mostly targeted as they are always looking for cosmetic products.

Fake beauty products and cigarettes were some of the products impounded in Nakasaja.

Earlier this year UNBS, police and other organisations set out a plan to wipe out fake products in the country and have on several occasions closed shop for those found with fake and illegal products.

The tax collecting agency cautioned the public to desist from smuggling fake products into the country as these cause harm to people’s health.

URA loses billions each year in smuggled fake products in the country.
