Simon Peter Kinobe was Saturday April 7 elected the 16th president of the Uganda Law Society (ULS) replacing outgoing president Francis Gimara who has served for two years.
Mr Kinobe will lead the society deputised by Ms Phiona Wall Nabasa.
Lawyers converged at Imperial Resort Beach Hotel in Entebbe to conduct the election in which Kinobe stood against Ms Alice Namuli who garnered 268 votes against Kinobe’s 760 votes. Ms Nabasa was voted by 700 lawyers against her rivals Mike Okuo’s 324 votes.
