The newly appointed Deputy Inspector General of Police, Brig Sabiiti Muzeyi Magyenyi, has said he is ready to serve the country because of his love for humanity.
“There is nothing as important as love. I serve because of love,” Brig Muzeyi told journalists during a blood donation exercise at Military Police Barracks in Makindye, Kampala, on Monday.
However, he refused to divulge more details about his appointment and instead preferred to concentrate on the blood donation exercise.
“I am aware of the new appointment, I will only speak about it when it is due time but today I am here to call on Ugandans to be positive about blood,” he said, adding they expect to collect 300 units of blood out of the exercise.
Following the sacking of Gen Kale Kayihura and Lt Gen Henry Tumukunde as IGP and security minister respectively, the newly appointed deputy IGP, Brig Sabiiti Muzeyi has urged the public to keep calm.
Brig Sabiiti called upon the public to keep calm over his new appointment and said he would take on things as they unfold.
Until his appointment, Brig Sabiiti has been been the commander of the Military Police since April 2017. He had previously served as deputy commander of the Special Forces Command.
