The Electoral Commission has set March 15 as the date for the Jinja East by-election by-election.
Electoral Commission chairman Simon Byabakama said all the necessary logistics has been made available for the poll. He pledged a free and fair election.
The by-election follows the cancellation of Nathan Igeme Nabeta’s victory by the Court of Appeal over electoral malpractice. Nabeta is expected to face off with FDC’s Paul Mwiru who challenged his victory.
Jinja East has a total number of 28,493 registered voters and 47 polling stations.
