Kyabazinga 3rd coronation anniversary fete set for tomorrow

KAMULI–All roads will tomorrow lead to Budhumbula Palace, Bugabula county, Kamuli district as Busoga marks the 3rd coronation anniversary of His Royal Highness William Wilberforce Gabula Nadiope IV.

Gabula was enthroned on September 13, 2014 after a prolonged feud over the Busoga Kyabazingaship that followed the death of Busoga’s former king Wako Muloki in 2008.

Andrew Ntange, the kingdom’s spokesperson, urged the kingdom subjects to turn up in large numbers for tomorrow’s coronation ceremony.

“The king is in high spirits and has accepted to appear before his beloved subjects as he marks three years on the throne,” Ntange said.

He said President Museveni, alongside several notable personalities in the country are expected to attend the ceremony.

The theme for this year’s coronation anniversary is: “Unity is key to Economic Development”.

Meanwhile, as part of activities to mark this year’s coronation anniversary, the kingdom in partnership with the Ministry of Health has organized a free health camp in the areas of Nawankandulo, Buzaaya and Kisozi, all in Kamuli district.

Trucks work on the road to the Budhumbula palace ahead of the coronation ceremony set for tomorrow.

The aim of the camp, according to kingdom prime minister Dr Joseph Muvawala, is to promote health living in the kingdom.

Dr Muvawala, who also doubles as the executive director of National Planning Authority (NPA), said the camp that will involve activities like Malaria diagnosis and treatment , Dental, HIV testing services, nutrition assessment and education, voluntary male medical circumcision, family planning both short and long term options, Screening cancer of the cervix and Optical services, among others will be rolled out in all chiefdoms until it reaches every person in the kingdom.
