Uganda Airlines unveils two new bombardier aircraft today

KAMPALA — Uganda till today Monday October 7 unveil two more new Bombardier CRJ 900 aircraft at Entebbe International Airport at 3:00PM.

With the new aircraft, the airline will expand its route network to cover more destinations in Southern and Central Africa, having launched to Nairobi, Dar Es Salaam, Mogadishu, Bujumbura, Juba and others.

The two new Bombardiers, flights UR474 and UR470, on Sunday according to Flightradar24, landed in Netherlands and Belgium, after leaving their manufacture base in Canada earlier on Saturday.

The two CRJ-900s planes spent the night there, before starting a day and night flight Saturday for Entebbe, where they are expected to land on Monday.

Their flight history shows , on Sunday they continued to Aswan, Egypt via Heraklion, Greece.

The two brings to four the total number of Bombardiers that Uganda Airlines will have for its regional services.

Transport Minister Eng. Monica Azuba recently revealed in a tweet that Uganda also expects two Airbus planes in 2020 to beef up the fleet.

The Independent reports that the Ferry Crew for the 3rd and 4th Aircraft are being delivered to Uganda Airlines are Captains Emmanuel Mutebi, Charles Karabarinde, Stephen Ariong and the Corporate QM Michael Kaliisa.

The planes are registered as 5x-KDP – Kidepo National Park and 5x-KNP – Kabalega National Park.
