KAMPALA – Lailah lived up to its billing by winning five of its eight nominations at Uganda Film Festival (UFF) 2019 awards held at the Uganda Institute of Information and Communications Technology (UICT) Nakawa.
The feature film took home awards for Best Director, People Choice Award, Best Post Production, Best Feature Film and Best Actor in a Feature Film.

A popular category, Viewer’s Choice Award, which was decided by the audience, predictably also went to Lailah, a film produced by Richard Mulindwa.

The film got the biggest audience during the screenings throughout the festival week in different cinemas.  During its corporate screening on Thursday at Century Cinemax, the hall was filled to capacity that some fans had to watch from the corridors while standing.

The awards were hosted by Gaetano Kaggwa while singers Vinka and Ykee Benda entertained the guests.

Here are some of the best shots from top industry players.
