KAMPALA -The 7th Edition of the ASFAS a cocktail of Fashion and Awards brought Serena Hotel at a standstill with models, artists and trendsetters from all over the country thronged the event.

The event attracted a number of fashionistas and celebrities, who graced the red carpet clad in amazing outfits.

For Starters, the red carpet affair painted Serena in a glowing mood for selfies, still photos, short videos all through the main arena. There were some graffiti paintings of some notable personalities like; Jidenna, Abryanz, Ozwald Boateng among others.

The main entrance was all dazzling with lights and a touch of black as it was the theme color of most.

Jidenna the act of the night urged the young generation to dream big than their parents as he was receiving an award.

“It is an honorable day in Kampala, and want to thank the team, winners and those that haven not to focus on their work as much as possible regardless of their status or field,” he said.

Some of the showcases were from  Janas Roos, Monix Couture, Oluchi,  I.N  official, David Tlale to mention but a few.

There were appearances from locally grown talented artists such as Beenie Gunter, a tribute to the Blue 3, and John Blaq and traditional dancers.

The winners in the different categories were announced and handed their accolades at the event, whose theme was “Fashion is Power”.

Makeup artist of the year Africa -( Lavie)

Stylish Male Artist –   (Fik Fameika)

Best Music Video – Sunday ( Toniks  featuring  Slick Stuart & Roja )

Special recognition for Innovation -(Moses Kayiira)

Male fashionista of year Ug- (Alex Muggaga)

Male Fashionista of Africa – (Amar Jonathan)

Female Fashionista of the  year Ug – (Mwaj Ahmed )

Designer of the year  Ug- (Abbas Kaijuka)

Designer of the year Africa – (Ifeanyi  Nwune)

Icon Award – Jidenna

To cap off the awards Jidenna blew the night to another level with a rendition of songs that included: “Little bit more”,  “Boomerang”, ” Particula”, “Bambi”, ” classic man”,  backed up by the dancers that saw the revellers and guests chant and sing along.
