KAMPALA – The excitement of the MAMA Awards being held here in the Pearl of Africa continues to manifest in the Ugandan music industry each day that goes by.
The preparations are in high gear and we have seen itop African music celebrities like Sauti Sol, Yemi Alade among others jetting into the country to work on some projects ahead of the MAMAs slated for February 21 2021.
Latest on these new celebrities is the Jerusalem hit maker Master KG who jetted into the country to work on a project with Ugandan award winning dance group Ghetto Kids.
The news of their meet up was shared by their meet up was shared on the official social media accounts of the MAMAs.
“UG meets SA. South African superstar, the man behind the global hit ‘Jerusalema’ and the globally renowned Ghetto Kids recently met up in Jinja, Uganda. The meeting was facilitated by Uganda’s finest Sheebah who interestingly also started her career as a dancer. #MTVMAMA #VISITUGANDA #LoveUganda,” a post read.
A banger awaits local entertainment fanatics following a meet between South African ‘Jerusalema’ hitmaker Master KG, Ghetto Kids, and Sheebah who met recently in Jinja, Uganda.
Their meet up which was engineered by MTV MAMAs is believed to be positive as they revealed plans of dropping a joint music project that is set to send waves across the continent.
The link-up was organized in efforts to see that local artists get in contact with established musicians to help spread their wings all over the world.
Mr Dauda Kavuma, the Ghetto Kids manager, however, trashed claims that the deal came along with loads of cash as he stated that it is just an opportunity and platform to promote Ugandan talent to the rest of the world.
We have in the past weeks seen Yemi Alade also working on a project with Gagamel International Boss Big Size Bebe Cool and Sauti Sol with Spice Diana.
We await to see what is in stock for the Ghetto Kids and Master KG collaborations as the road to MAMAs becomes clearer.
