KAMPALA — Several social media platforms were awash with pictures of renowned gospel singer Julie Mutesasira’s also known as The Preacher’s Wife wedding to a fellow woman.
These photos came just a day after her then husband Pastor Steven Mutesasira shared photos of him walking down the aisle with his new woman, one Judith Nabakooza.
Steven and Julie Mutesasira were married for quite some long time and they had three children (most notably Esther and Ezekiel the winners of East Africa has Got Talent) together but their marriage failed to work out hence divorcing officially in 2016.
Later, Julie then decided to relocate to Canada, leaving her three children behind with their father. While there, the ‘List Ya Mukama’ singer allegedly united with her new female lover and the pair tied the knot a few months last year, now living as husband and wife.
Tired of being alone! Over the weekend, Pastor Steven, also the senior preacher of Appointed Upper Room Church Kamwokya tied a knot with his new wife Judith Mutesasira in a glamorous wedding at Faith Power Centre Entebbe.
Through his social media platforms earlier this week, the man of God made a promise to his new wife Judith as he penned down an emotional letter saying that they have now turned into one entity for the lifetime.
“An excellent wife is the crown of her husband, but she who shames him is as rottenness in his bones (Proverbs 12:4) Marriage is a life-long covenant between a man and a woman to live as one flesh, for their mutual benefits, and for the bearing of children,” Pastor Steven said.
He added: “The relation of husband –wife is the most beautiful relational of the world. It’s the relation by which two different people turn into one entity for the lifetime.”
According to reports, the picture of renowned gospel singer Pastor Julie Mutesasira’s wedding of a fellow woman that shocked quite a number on social media was first put out by Pastor Franklin Mondo Mugisha.
Speaking during an interview, the Empowerment Christian Prayer Center International lead Pastor Mondo Mugisha disclosed that Julie’s wedding with a fellow woman happened a year ago and he has a full album of their wedding photos.
Mondo explained that he decided to release the photo because many people were castigating the man of God (Pastor Mutesasira) for marrying another woman over the weekend which he felt was not good and fair.
“It really hurts me because I don’t want to be the reason for the church to split. I had to release the photo to challenge those who have been judging Pastor Steven Mutesasira’s decision to marry another woman,” Pastor Mondo said.
“Therefore, I felt that it was in the best interest of everyone to know,” he added.
Pastor Mondo who also claimed to have known the couple (Julie and Stephen) for the past 18-years said Julie’s decision to start dating fellow women ruined their marriage. Mondo shares he knew Julie quite well since he was the person who preached to her the gospel that later made her give her life to Christ.
“I got these photos in 2017 and decided not to share them to keep them for the respect of the two (Julie and Stephen). When you look at these photos it is clear she is no longer Sister Julie, but brother Julie. I now want the public to know that Pastor Mutesasira is free to marry,” he said.
