Ashburg Kato sends threats to Facebook C.E.O after being kicked out of the platform for violating community rules

KAMPALA – Former People Power blogger Ashburg Kato has threatened Facebook proprietor Mark Zuckerberg that if he fails to call him directly in a period of one year, it will be the end of Facebook in Africa.

In pethraps one of the biggest delusions in the aftermath of the 2021 polls, the ardent supporter of President Museveni, Kato has for the past days been grounded ever since his page was deleted by Facebook.

Ashburg Kato recently came out and asked President Museveni to shut down Facebook in Uganda following an incident where owners of over 50 Facebook accounts, some aligned with the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) on January 09, claimed blocking with some pages permanently unpublished or deleted on Facebook, a social networking application.

“But I want to send some simple message to my friend, my mentor Mark Zuckerberg, dear Mark, you have only one year and if I don’t get a direct call from you within that space of one year, believe me that will be the end of Facebook in Africa,” he said.

Ever since he crossed over from Bobi Wine’s People Power to ruling party-National Resistance Movement (NRM), blogger Ashburg Kato’s social media life has never been the same.

In a video making rounds on social media, Kato who emotionally breaks down sights political wars for making his social media life a living hell to the extent that he had to quit the popular socializing platform, Facebook.

“I have officially given up, I am not going to go back to Facebook, I’ve gone my friends, but I’ve gone in a lot of pain, I’ve left cursing because Facebook has been my job, it has been my mother and my father, its where I’ve been getting what to eat, it has been my everything,” he said in a video.

The renowned blogger acknowledged that his downfall was caused by political wars, and he assured his fans that he will never come back to Facebook, and the shared video was his last post on the social media platform.
