KAMPALA – Singer Derrick Katongole better known by his stage name Victor Kamenyo is currently on cloud nine after signing a mega music deal with Black Market Records, one of the biggest international music management labels.

The Silina Malala singer is the latest signing by the record label and joins the likes of Daddy Andre, Nina Roz, Angella Katatumba among others.

Kamenyo revealed the news through his official social media channels. He shared with his fans how he had sealed a mega deal and was set to release a new musical project, the first one under the new label.

“Today, I have decided to sign with Black Market, am releasing a new song today titled Genda Olonde, #akabonerolyaato,” he noted.

Much as he is currently baked in politics as he is vying for the slot of the Lord Councillor LCV in Lubaga North, his struggling music career will be given a facelift by the new record label he is signed to.

They will be responsible for marketing his music and branding him for the public.

However, despite receiving a mega music deal, Kamenyo is not planning to back down on his budding political journey, as his hopes to run for Lord Councillor LC5, Lubaga division come 2021 general elections are still in high gear.

Kamenyo had a successful musical career when he had just penetrated the industry because of his unique style that appealed more to the youth. This however deteriorated with time and he has been struggling to get back to where/who he was.

With Black Market Records coming out to sign him, we can only wish him the best in reviving his musical career and being able to strike a balance between the politics and music!
