KAMPALA – For some time now, sensational singer Lydia Jazmine has been sharing photos of her and children in slums and people had failed to understand what she is surely up to.

Well this was a preamble of what was coming up in the singer’s plans of having to look after these children, a dream she has always nursed since childhood.

Her love for children can’t go without notice and their love for her is mutual. She has been celebrating her birthdays in orphanages for the past couple of years and donating food items as well as sharing meals with the kids until she decided to take things a notch higher.

Last week, the ‘Nkubanja’ singer made her dream come true as she invited a few celebrity friends like Eddy Kenzo, Jacob Omutuuze, Bishop Muwonge among other people when she unveiled her charity organization dubbed ‘Silent Voices’

Jazmine through her new found organization, Silent Voices has partnered with Caring Avenue Uganda to start a campaign that will help the less privileged.

“This is an idea I thought about based on my background. Ever since I was eight years old, I was raising five kids so this has been part of me. I promised to make a difference in children on any opportunity I come across and this year, that opportunity presented itself,” said Jazmine.

Her Silent voices campaign is targeting the voiceless and the orphans, among other vulnerable children from different parts of the country especially those living in slums.

The project that will be happening for five years and will see teenagers and the youths being taken back to school while others will be participating in different projects to promote their talents in dancing, singing among others.

Well done Jazmine and we wish you the best of luck as you impact the new generation with the skills they need in life.
