KAMPALA – On Wednesday evening, a video where Presidential advisor and self-proclaimed Ghetto president Mark Bugembe alias Buchaman is seen beating up his fellow singer Rocky Giant real names Fred Giriya allegedly for calling himself a ghetto president too made rounds on several social media platforms.
In the video, Buchaman together with his angry mob force Rocky Giant to sit down as they humiliate, cane and pour water on him while asking him where he got the permission to call himself a Ghetto president.
“Do you know what we do, can you stand or do what I do, and can you face and talk to the ghetto youths? How can you go around to call yourself a ghetto president,” the furious presidential advisor inquired before slapping Rocky Giant.
The faded rapper famed for songs like Ngoma Nene, Paka Last, Nani Wuyo among others, Rocky Giant who seemed so intimidated and scared submitted to Buchaman promising to worship him as he stammered in fear and let Buchaman and his gangsters get away with their violent actions.
After things going viral and concerned notable figures in the music industry seeing how what used to be a talent in Rocky Giant was being soiled, they started coming up with offers to revive the star in Rocky.
These included Nince Henry the writer who offered to write Rocky two rap songs, Producer Diggy Baur of Sabula Records who offered to record for him two audios, video director Frank Jah of the Jahlive Studios who also offered to make for him three videos and singer Victor Kamenyo who offered the faded rapper Shs 1million to promote his music.
Several artists have since come out to comment on Buchaman’s actions as demeaning and inhumane. They have vowed to fight for Rocky Giant’s rights and urged the Uganda Police Force to take up the matter and have presidential advisor Buchaman arrested and brought to book to account for his actions.
A few years back after 2021 Presidential hopeful Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu alias Bobi Wine, the Ghetto President took on a new role as the Kyadondo East Member of Parliament, Mark Bugembe alias Buchaman immediately announced himself as the new Ghetto president since he was the then Vice President.
“Since I have been the vice ghetto president and the president has left us for another role, am now the new ghetto president,” Buchaman said a few years ago, despite being opposed by many Ghetto youths.
