KAMPALA – There is no doubt that singer and Sulubada High School Headmaster Michael Mukwaya a.k.a Mikie Wine is a true description of working hard and working smart. The musician has over time saved his way to sleeping comfortably and he has achieved just that.

In an interview earlier this year, Mikie revealed that at the time he bought the plot on which his mansion sits now, it was Ugx 25million but he kept on buying more land.

The 31-year-old explained that he surely sacrificed a lot in his youthful days saving the most money so that he could achieve his dream house at some point in the future. This was thanks to his wife Shazney Khan who has always been in charge of his finances and takes care of the home and their rentals.

The singer’s mansion now bears a living room, guest house, several bedrooms, aquarium, conference room and a couple of rental spaces away from the main house.

Five months ago, panga wielding thieves broke into Mikie’s then uncompleted house, put the family members under threat and ran off with valuables including millions of shillings.

Mikie Wine’s wife Shazney revealed then that the robbers had made off with Ugx 8.2M which she was planning to spend on construction of the parts that had not yet been fully finished.

“It was scary, it was very traumatizing. I would not even wish this on my worst enemy. Do you know waking up and finding people you’ve never seen in your life telling you to keep quiet and handover your money to them? They took the money, they asked us for our phones as well. Surprisingly, they threw the phones at the fence as they left maybe because they were scared of being tracked.”
