
KAMPALA – Uganda Gospel Musicians Association president Afande Lanek and singer Sam Lucus Lubyogo better known by his stage name Levixone have decided to mend their friendship after a week of casting blame and pointing fingers to each other on who was responsible for the misunderstanding.
The relationship between the two singers hit rock-bottom a week ago after Levixone returned a car that was allegedly gifted to him by Lanek.
The duo was concerned about the rumors that people were spreading that their disagreements were fueled by their pastors. Lanek is a congregant at Pastor Jackson Ssenyonga’s Bwaise based Christian Life Center whereas Levixone is a sheep at Pastor Aloysious Bugingo’s Makerere Kikoni based House of Prayer Ministries.
“Me and my brother Lanek have come out to clear the air about what has been happening. I was really devastated when pastors got involved in this, it was an unethical act to involve the innocent men of God,” Levixone said in an interview on a local TV station.
The ‘Chikibombe’ singer added that the only reason he returned the car was to have peace of mind and also for Lanek to understand that their friendship didn’t have to be based on the fact that he gave him a car but instead wanted it to be God-oriented and genuine.
According to Lanek, after meeting with Levixone yesterday, they realized that it was the people they trusted that were talking this and that with an intention to break them apart.
“Today the devil has lost and JESUS has won. When they asked Jesus what is the greatest commandment? “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ The Bible says ‘If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault, between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother’,” he shared.
Lanek added that “In this Journey of Life, the Bible says we are all sinners and have fallen short of his Glory but a Saint is a sinner who once fell down but rose up.”
The duo’s cold war was sparked off by irritating statements that were made by Lanek that forced Levixone to return the convertible Mercedes Benz which Lanek had gifted him in 2018 during preparations for his “Turn the Replay” concert.
