KAMPALA – Bryan Lutaaya also known as Bryan Barber is a happy man after becoming one of the winners of the International Barber competitions.

The competitions that were held over in August were an idea by Traxnyc, a jewelry store in the United States.

Bryan Lutaaya emerged the only African and Ugandan Barber winning original silver coins worth millions of money.

The news was shared in a post on the official Instagram account of Traxnyc, the event organizers.

According to the exhilarated Lutaaya, this is a motivation to him and now he does not take hair trimming for granted since it has taken his name overseas and gotten him into the world of competitions.

“Youths overlook the barbering job but this is a true manifestation that it can actually change someone’s life. It got me from Luwero to Kampala and now my name is allover in the United States,” he said.

The American based company tasked Barbers across the world to do haircuts of their (Traxnyc) company logo and a prize awaited the winners.

An American Barber became the overall winner and Lutaaya together with other barbers were runners up and got silver which was shipped in for the celebrity barber to Uganda.

Bryan Barber is one of the most experienced Barbers around Kampala with 20 years of experience in the trade. He has worked at many salons and some of these include Sparkles Salon, Hair by Zziwa, Mat Barber. He now owns his own Kibuli based Bryan Barber Salon.

The celebrated barber has cut hair for big names in and out of Uganda from politicians to entertainers and he was recently contracted to cut Nigerian Singer Skales’s hair when he came to Uganda.

Bryan is also known for doing charity haircuts in slums in and around Kampala and according to him, he has visited about 30 charity homes shaving children in there.
