KAMPALA – Singer Ndugwa Deus, aka Grenade Official’s closeness with socialite Zari Hassan continues to raise people’s eyebrows each time either party comes out to comment or post on their social media platforms about themselves.
Zari celebrated her 40th birthday yesterday and social media was awash with birthday greetings to the socialite from all corners.
Some of these were family, friends, musicians and followers. Important to note was singer Grenade’s birthday message to the mother of five.
In his birthday message to the socialite, he continues to show how much he likes her. Through his Instagram account, the singer noted that Zari’s getting a year older keeps jealousy in check.
“Happy Birthday to my hot friend. The fact that you’re turning a year older today is the only thing keeping my jealousy in check. Awesome day friend,” he posted.
This post revealed that Grenade seems to have gradually come to terms with the fact that he will forever be friend zoned by the Bosslady and that is why he finds it quite easy to call her friend.
Earlier this year in March, Grenade released a song dubbed Zarinah where he heaped praises on the socialite. The song was just a predecessor of a number of videos Grenade used to share on his social media platforms time and again where he would show that he felt something for the socialite.
Zari in return endorsed the Zarinah song by sharing several videos of her jamming to the song as she confessed how she had ‘madlove’ for the 22-year old singer.
Six months ago, the singer through his social media platforms expressed that what he feels for the mother of five is beyond love but rather an addiction.
“Everyone has an addiction, mine happens to be her “zarithebosslady” he shared. Zari couldn’t leave Grenade’s post hanging as she responded with love “happiness babe”.
Later, he was asked to comment about the love portrayed in the video where the two were seen getting cozy, Grenade didn’t deny or accept having a romantic relationship with Zari, but instead stated that it’s not an offence to date a woman who is older.
“Any ways, falling in love with a woman who is older than you is no offence and it is acceptable most especially if you love or when you love each other to the fullest. In fact, it is very okay. At the moment though, I’m single and Zari is my good friend,” Grenade said.
