KAMPALA – Songstress Leila Kayondo has been dragged into a new scandal after one Neima Nassuna accused the singer of stealing a car belonging to her late husband Luke Junior Sendawula.

According to Nasuuna, Kayondo is in illegal possession of the said car and has adamantly refused to hand it over but using her status to steal what rightfully belongs to her (Nasuuna).

Speaking in an interview with a local TV station yesterday, Nasuuna claimed that when her husband died, the said car was in Kayondo’s hands who she describes as his mistress, who is now doing whatever it takes to change the car’s log book into her name.

“My husband left the car with a woman called Leila Kayondo, at first I thought they were just friends but after his death, I learnt through news that she was his mistress. He used to work from South Africa but all the time he was going back, he would leave this car with his ‘friend’,” Nasuuna said.

She claims that after her husband’s untimely death, she has been trying so much to get in touch with Kayondo so that she gives back the car, but the singer has failed to act accordingly.

Nasuuna took the matters to police and opened a case against Kayondo, she even succeeded in getting the car impounded, but to her surprise, Kayondo managed to work her magic and retrieved the car from police thus leaving her at cross roads.

Although the police spokesperson Patrick Onyango confirms Nasuuna’s complaints, Kayondo has denied knowing anything to do with the car, police statements or Nasuuna.

When she was contacted about the issue, Kayondo brushed it off saying she was not ready to give her time to attention seekers.

“I do not have time for that woman, Sendawula gave me the car so I completely do not understand what she is saying. I understand such individuals who always come out to get attention but I personally do not have time to waste,” she said.

At the time of his death, the South Africa based Ugandan businessman Junior Ssendawula who succumbed to COVID-19 in mid-July was rumored to have been in a relationship with songstress Leilah Kayondo.
