KAMPALA – Pastor Aloysius Bugingo, the senior pastor at House of Prayer Ministries International and the proprietor of Salt Media is reported to have made a commitment to his girlfriend Susan Makula.
Bugingo is said to have made a formal proposal during night prayers at Mandela National Stadium on October 4, in the presence of his close confidants. The Independence Night prayer is an annual event organised by House of Prayer Ministries. The proposal according to sources was made in the boardroom of the stadium shortly after midnight before the pastor got on to the pulpit to preach.
It is the reason, sources say, why Bugingo decided to invite his parents all the way from Rwanda to attend this particular event. The same event was attended by Bugingo’s two younger sisters. On one bended knee, Bugingo made a marriage proposal to Susan with whom they have been in a relationship for over four years.
The source intimated that Bugingo’s initial plan was to introduce Susan to the congregation in the stadium but this changed after sections of the media pre-empted his intentions by breaking the story. He, therefore, decided to introduce Susan to his parents and close confidants as his fiancé. That same night, Bugingo knelt before his parents to be blessed in the presence of Pastor Simeon Kayiwa of Namirembe Christian Fellowship.
Bugingo’s plan to wed Susan however, still faces one last hurdle, the court case he filed seeking to divorce his estranged wife Teddy Naluswa, is not yet decided. Sources at the Lungujja-based Salt Media have confirmed that dates have been set for the introduction and wedding, court petitions notwithstanding.
