KAMPALA – The CBA Uganda Vintage and Classic Auto Show 8th edition returns in high gear. Slated for July 27, the car show will take place at Kampala Sheraton Hotel in Kampala.
Under themed ‘Love Of The Machines’, 2019 edition will besides winning cars also see garages and mechanics winning trophies.
Speaking at a presser, Mr. John B. Niwagaba, the chairman Vintage and Classic Auto show said that the edition is intended to appreciating and rewarding people who participate in the show.
“We want to celebrate persons who make the biggest sacrifice to make it to the show as well as the best upcountry participating car/bike. This ‘Love’ edition will also introduce a split of category one to honour best pickup and Van separately. The theme dressing for this event being “auto-inspired wear,” said Mr Niwagaba.
This year’s edition will leave many excited as the lucky winners will among other awards move away with ‘Vintage van of the year’, ‘Vintage pickup/truck of the year’, ‘Vintage mechanic of the year’ which will be taken by the mechanic with the largest number of winning cars at the show, ‘Vintage garage of the year” (to be taken by the garage with the largest number of winning cars at the show).
Among the more awards include ‘collectible of the year’, ‘The best kept/restored collectible’, ‘Best upcountry car (to be taken by the best cars that come from outside 100 km of Kampala city) and also ‘Burst-a-piston award’ which will go to the car that tried hardest to get to the show.
The event is meant to celebrate and reward the growing love for vintage restoration within Uganda and the rest of East Africa.
