Just weeks after being dumped by Ugandan socialite Zari Hassan, Singer Naseeb Abdul Juma alias Diamond Platnumz’s troubles have continued to grow following the banning of two of his songs by the Tanzania government.
The decision to ban the songs came after a review of songs by the National Arts Council of Tanzania (Basata), which branded the songs as being against the country’s norms and values.
Currently Tanzania’s biggest export, Diamond’s songs, Hallelujah and Waka Waka, were among 13 other songs banned over featuring suggestive dance moves and sexual innuendos in the music videos.
On Wednesday, Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority (TCRA) announced the ban of songs including Kibamia by Roma Mkatoliki, Pale Kati Patamu by Ney wa Mitego, Chura and Nimevurugwa by Snura, Uzuri Wako by Jux, Hainaga Ushemeji by Manifongo, I’m Sorry JK by Nikki Mbishi, Tema Mate Tumchape by Madee, Nampa Papa by Gigy Money and Nampanga.
