


KAMPALA- Xente Tech, an electronic payment service, has unveiled an exclusive service for movie lovers and bus travelers purchasing advance tickets to all the major cinemas in Uganda and those traveling around and outside Uganda respectively.
Starting November 10, those who use Xente will be able to watch films from major cinemas in Uganda such as Cinema Magic- Naalya, Century Cinemax -Acacia mall, Numax Cinema – Entebbe Road and Cinemax – Makerere University.
“I’m thrilled, over 15,000 users on Xente will now be able to pay for any movie ticket at the major movie Cinemas we’re working with. There will be lots of promotions that will be given out to our customers using the service,” said Allan Rwakatungu, Chief Executive Officer and Founder, Xente App.
The bus service will be catering for routes going to major cities around East Africa such as Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania among others.
All the products on the Xente app can be paid for using Visa, Master Card, and Mobile Money (Airtel, MTN) or Xente wallet which is topped up using the two options.
On her part, Ms. Lyn Tukei, the Public Relations Officer at Xente said in the new arrangement, anyone will be able to access the new services.
“Anyone from anywhere in the world will be able to buy for themselves and their loved ones bus tickets and tickets to the cinema using their bank card or mobile money,” Ms Tukei said.



Xente is an e-Payments, e-Commerce and Financial services platform for consumers and businesses.
For consumers, it provides them with a digital wallet app on mobile and web with many payment options including e-bank, mobile money, and even credit.
Consumers use the app to; key among others, safely and securely pay for lots of products and services like airtime from any network, bills, TV subscription, School fees.
Other services include booking tickets for events, movies, and buses, pay at offline and online shops as well as financial services including loans.
For businesses, Xente provides tools that they use to their products or service online and mobile to customers anywhere in the world and get paid instantly into their local bank account.
Ms. Tukei said the company provides e-commerce web shops that businesses use to quickly and easily set up an online store including different payment options for their customers among other services.
