KAMPALA – NCBA Bank has successfully concluded the 2024 NCBA Junior Golf Series at the prestigious Uganda Golf Club. This annual event underscores NCBA’s dedication to nurturing young golfing talent and promoting the sport among Uganda’s younger generation.
The NCBA Junior Golf Series provides a unique platform for junior golfers aged 5-18 to hone their skills, develop essential life skills, and compete in international tournaments. This year’s series featured multi-day tournaments and skill-enhancing camps at six golf clubs across Uganda, attracting over 100 junior golfers from Uganda and beyond.
“Our mission is to share the joy of learning golf with children while fostering their holistic development,” said Mark Muyobo, NCBA’s Chief Executive Officer. “Through inclusive junior golf programs, we aim to prepare elite junior players to compete globally.”
The series offered a pathway for participants to qualify for renowned international tournaments, including the Rome Classic in Italy and the Big 5 Championship in South Africa, enhancing their junior world rankings.
NCBA’s involvement reflects the bank’s commitment to empowering young individuals to reach their full potential. “Golf instills timeless values and fosters community bonds, aligning with our vision of enabling personal and financial success,” Muyobo emphasized.
The NCBA Junior Golf Series promotes diversity in sports, sportsmanship, and core values like integrity, discipline, and self-esteem. The event brought together Ugandan and international junior golfers, delivering a mix of competition, camaraderie, and community engagement.
