MENGO – Express FC will have to wait for a few more days before they are crowned winners of the 2020/21 Uganda Premier League.

This is after the Federation of Uganda Football Association decided to postpone their coronation ceremony.

Express FC were declared League champions on June 29th after FUFA applied force Majeure due to the Covid-19 lockdown that was imposed on all Sporting activities in Uganda.

The coronation event was slated for Thursday, 8th July but it has been postponed to Tuesday, 13 at StarTimes Offices, Nakasero, Soriz House.

At the event, the club Executive, Players and a few members of the media will grace the function.

FUFA however, did not officially reward the 2019/20 champions Vipers SC with their trophy who were also declared winners in the same circumstances.

Express are now Uganda Premier league champions for the seventh time in their history and will represent Uganda at the 2021/22 CAF Champions League.

The Red Eagles ended the season one point above second placed URA FC.
