ForteBet Real Stars Sports Awards: U-20 Star – Kakooza, netballer –Nampungu win March accolades

LUGOGO-KAMPALA – The ForteBet Real Stars Sports Awards’ winners for the month of March were decorated at a function staged at the Route256 Restaurant, Lugogo on Tuesday.
The ceremony, which Canaan Investments General Manager – Abdillah Saleh saw organisers recognize four athletes for their contribution in different sporting area in the month. The list has a footballer in Derrick Kakooza; Rugger, Maxwell Ebonga; Golfer, Irene Nakalembe; and netballer – Joan Nampungu.

Kakooza who top scored at the recently concluded Afcon U20 beat off competition from Uganda Premier League leading marksman, Steven Mukwala and KCCA FC star Sadat Anaku, to the award.
In Rugby, Jinja Hippos’ full back Ebonga outsmarted KOBs duo of Justin Kimono and Pius Ogena enroute to win on the day while golfer, Nakalembe rated better than Joseph Cwinya-ai and Martha Babirye.
Nampungu on her part was rewarded for her excellent performance during the She Cranes’ participation in the recently concluded Spar Challenge Cup in South Africa.
The monthly awards are sponsored by Betting firm – Fortebet; Jude Colour Solutions; and Canaan Soda products.
Real Stars Awards, Chief Executive Officer –CEO, Isaac Mukasa said his firm targets to develop talents of outstanding Ugandan athletes.
