Both teams have made a positive start to their respective campaigns, and will hope to keep this form going on.

The River Islanders opened their season against Hertha, and though the former lost the fixture, they have remained unbeaten ever since, and now they find themselves placed seventh in the table.

Meanwhile, the Eagles started their league season with four straight unbeaten games, before they ran into the Bavarians – in which they were soundly defeated. However, it would be unfair to hold that loss against them, considering the sheer domination of Hans-Dieter Flick’s men lately.

As of now, Florian Kohfeldt’s men, as well as Adi Hutter’s men are placed seventh and eighth in the table, with eight points each.

The team placed just above them – Monchengladbach too have eight points. But it needs to be noted that they are locking horns with the toppers of the table, Leipzig, this weekend.

As such, there’s a high probability that Monchengladbach will drop points this Saturday, and this presents an opportunity for the winner between the River Islanders and the Eagles to make it into the top-six of the table, the European spots.

Seven of the previous nine overall match-ups had goals from both teams. Eight of the preceding nine clashes had three or more goals. The hosts had scored twice or more in five of the last seven encounters here. Meanwhile, the visitors scored two or more goals in four of the former seven clashes at this stadium.

The Bavarians are the reigning champions of the competition, and they are also widely considered as the absolute best team in the whole world – courtesy, their recently-completed continental treble.

By all means they are going after a repeat of that performance, and so far they have shown indications of bettering their 2019-20 campaign.

However, they do have the challenges posed by Dortmund and Leipzig to be taken care of, before they can start thinking about the German top flight crown.

This weekend, Hans-Dieter Flick’s men should record an easy win, as they are pitted against one of the worst teams in the Bundesliga.

Not only are the Billy Goats a new and inexperienced team in this tournament (as they were promoted just at the end of 2018-19 season), but they are also yet to record a win so far this campaign.

Moreover, like any other team in Germany, they too have an embarrassing h2h record against the Bavarians.

Flick’s men are on a five-game winning run. They had registered a combined scorecard of 11-2, from the previous three games combined. They had also recorded 28 of the former 32 overall wins. At this stadium, the guests had won 14 of the last 16 clashes. The latest match-up at this venue had ended 1-4 in favor of the visitors.

The 05ers are easily the worst club in the competition with their 100% losing record so far this season. In fact, they remain the only team yet to post a point on the board, and they have conceded a total of 15 goals in the process. Do note that they also have scored just four in return.

Going on, they are also on the road, and have an inferior h2h record against this opponent. Meanwhile, Fuggerstadter had begun their campaign on a great note, and even recorded a win to nil against Dortmund.

However, they had some tough match-ups in the last two weeks against Leipzig, and Leverkusen. For the reason, they are on a losing run of two games in the league, and they desperately need to put an end to this worrying run.

The latest encounter had taken place just three months back. Then, Heiko Herrlich’s men registered a win to nil on the road.

They are also on a three-fixture winning run. They have scored two or more goals in five of the preceding seven clashes. In the past 12 years, the guests have won just twice at this stadium. The home team has scored two or more goals in every single encounter at this ground in the past three-year period.

Die Blauen are one of the newest teams in the competition, as they were promoted to the top flight just at the end of the last season. And expectedly, they are struggling to keep up with the demands of this harsh league.

Going on, they have recorded a total of just one win so far in the Bundesliga, and that had come against the struggling Koln. Moreover, only Schalke have scored fewer goals than them in the tournament as well.

Meanwhile, Der BVB are the best team in Germany apart from the Bavarians, and they impressively have the best defense in the league so far.

They are also determined to go after Bayern Munich for the German title, and taking into consideration the form of the defending champions – it’s imperative that Lucien Favre’s men do not drop any point at all against easier opponents like that of Uwe Neuhaus’s men.

Moreover, Der BVB also do have a great h2h record against this rival over the years.

Favre’s men have scored two or more goals in four of the preceding six encounters, and slotted in a total of 16 goals in the process. They have kept clean sheets in the past three clashes. The latest home win at this stadium had come back in 2007. The last time these two locked horns at this ground, the visitors had recorded a 0-2 victory.

Borussia Monchengladbach vs RB Leipzig
Borussia Park, Gladbach
Saturday, 31-10-2020 @8:30pm

Julian Nagelsmann’s men are the toppers of the table at the moment, even above the likes of Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.

Despite being a new team, they have been delivering great performances one after the other, and have really elevated themselves to be one of the best in Germany.

As of now, they have a lead of one point at the top. But the Bavarians and Der BVB are pitted against two of the worst teams in the whole league, and this put the Red Bulls under pressure. They have to win at any cost this weekend, or risk giving up the top-most spot.

However, they do have the relief that they are taking on the Colts, whom they have dominated in h2h encounters all through their history. On top of that, Marco Rose’s men also have been struggling to show any consistency lately.

Nagelsmann’s men have a 100% unbeaten record against this rival. They had won four of the preceding five overall clashes. They have scored two or more goals in six of the former seven encounters. At this stadium, the guests have a 100% winning record. The latest meeting at this ground had ended in a 1-3 win for the visitors.
