KAMPALA – Express FC have confirmed the signing of John ‘Tochi’ Byamukama.

The midfielder joins from relegated Uganda Premier League side Tooro United FC, becoming the Red Eagles’ 11th signing ahead of the 2020/21 season.

He joins Wasswa Bbosa’s side from relegated Tooro United FC. Byamukama is also the fourth acquisition from the now Big League side, following into the footsteps of goalkeeper Cryspus Kusiima, winger Godfrey Lwesibawa and forward Charles Musige.

Byamukama featured in all but four of Tooro United’s games last season.

He scored the winning goal in the 2-1 victory over URA FC at Namboole and also managed several assist along the cause of the season.

Before his time at Tooro, he played for Bumate United in the Big League.

Byamukama is a product of the Fortportal based Friends of Soccer Academy.

Having let go of over 15 players, this comes as no surprise that the Red Eagles are signing players at such a high rate as they have to replace the outgoing individuals.

Express finished 9th with 31 points from 25 games last season.
