KAMPALA – Wakiso Giants FC have completed the signing of Police FC winger Pius Kagwa.
The move was confirmed by the Purple Sharks on Tuesday morning.
“In a bid to strengthen our squad, the Purple Sharks have signed winger Pius Kagwa from Police FC.” Read part of the post on Wakiso Giants FC’s official website.
Kagwa is understood to have signed a three year deal with an option to extend it for a further 12 month.
He thus becomes the second signing for Wakiso this off season following the capture of Ibrahim Kasule, last month.
Kagwa was arguably Police FC’s best players last season, putting up several man of the match performances as the Cops beat the drop.
Speaking on Tuesday, Kagwa expressed his excitement for joining what he termed as one of the best clubs in Uganda and also thanked Police for his time with them.
“I am excited to be joining one of the best clubs in the country at the moment. Said Kagwa as quoted by WakisoGiantsFC.com
“I have had some great time at Police and would love to thank the management, former teammates and my coaches for turning me into the player I am today.
“There is still a lot to learn for me but am ready for the challenge and can’t wait to get started.”
This is Kagwa’s second Uganda Premier League club having previously featured for Regional League side Synergy before joining Police.
In what was their maiden top flight campaign, Wakiso finished 10th with 30 points from 25 games.
